Westland Insurance Group Ltd. is growing, and we're looking for a strategic people leader to elevate our employee experience as Senior Manager, People & Performance. Based out of our Head Office in Surrey, BC (hybrid), you'll lead a talented national team dedicated to building an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing workplace. In this influential role, you'll contribute to the evolution of our people strategies and partnerships - driving performance, growth, and connection across Westland as we continue to expand and empower our teams from coast to coast.



Expected Compensation:

The expected hiring range for this role is $115,000 to $135,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.

Why we'll love You:



You have a minimum of 10 years progressive HR experience, including several years leading a small to mid-size team CPHR designation (or working toward it), and a degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or related discipline Proven experience coaching, influencing, and partnering with senior business leaders Demonstrated success developing high-performing HR teams Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven people decisions Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practices across performance, engagement, compensation, and workforce planning Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects with excellence A champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion across all people programs You stay curious - always learning, growing, and applying new ideas to elevate your work

Once here, you'll:



Lead and inspire the HR Business Partner and People Relations teams, driving alignment with Westland's culture and business goals Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders, translating business objectives into actionable people strategies Oversee people relations, ensuring timely, fair, and effective resolution of employee issues Collaborate with our HR Centers of Excellence (Learning & Development, Compensation, Talent Acquisition) to design and deliver impactful programs Partner with Change Management to embed change principles into HR initiatives Support organizational design and workforce planning to meet evolving business needs Lead talent and succession planning, partnering with Talent Acquisition to ensure strong internal pipeline for key positions Use HR analytics and insights to drive continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness Champion a diverse and inclusive culture across all stages of the employee experience Elevate the role of HR from reactive to proactive - continuously looking for ways to innovate and improve
