About the Role





In this new role as

Senior Manager, People & Culture

, based in our

Vancouver or Victoria office

, you will lead the development and execution of AES's unified People & Culture strategy across all offices.



This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, encompassing traditional HR functions--such as compliance, employee relations, and performance management--along with culture-building, engagement, learning and development, and workforce planning initiatives.



Reporting to the Vice President, you will lead a team of two, providing both strategic guidance and active support for key People & Culture programs and processes. This is a

full-time, primarily onsite position

with some hybrid flexibility in Vancouver or Victoria, and occasional travel to other AES offices as required.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Strategic Leadership & Talent




Co-develop with VP and leadership team and execute AES's unified P&C strategy to support business growth, engagement, and retention. Serve as trusted advisor to the VP and leadership team on people-related matters. Lead organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning. Oversee recruitment and talent acquisition, its alignment to workforce plans, budgets, and headcount forecasting.

HR Operations & Compliance




Manage HR policies, procedures, and compliance with Employment Standards Act, human rights legislation, and other applicable provincial laws in Canada. Utilize HR information systems, Applicant tracking systems and other systems to drive efficiency and accuracy. Develop, maintain, and improve HR dashboards and metrics (turnover, headcount, time-to-fill, etc.) to support business reporting. Lead goal setting, performance reviews, and salary review processes. Partner with Finance to ensure payroll compliance and operational accuracy of employee related processes.

Culture & Engagement




Promote consistency in HR processes and employee experience across all AES offices. Oversee company-wide engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and follow-up action planning based on employee survey feedback. Drive retention-focused programs in partnership with the P&C Coordinator and HR Generalist.

Learning & Development




Design and manage leadership and professional development programs. Identify organizational skill gaps and collaborate with technical and operational leaders to implement targeted training plans. Ensure all mandatory training programs are implemented and completed on schedule.

Employee Relations




Develop and oversee employee relations and workplace conduct policies. Lead employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans. Lead, coach, and develop the People & Culture team while providing coaching and support to managers and employees.



Our Must Haves:




8-10+ years progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in engineering, or technical industries with at least a couple of years of leadership experience within a complex, multi disciplinary and evolving organization. A university degree in HR or equivalent and a CPHR designation is preferred. Deep understanding of HR compliance, employee relations, and organizational development. Experience leading culture, engagement, and change management initiatives. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; proven ability to work across diverse teams and geographies. Proven exceptional communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization. Proven track record of supporting diverse and distributed teams.



Compensation:

$100,000- $130,000.
