Our Position

Reporting to Director \xe2\x80\x93 Patient Engagement and Integrated Planning , the Senior Manager, Patient Engagement and Policy Strategy will build national stakeholder engagement and policy strategies to positively position the company as a collaborator of choice for a wide range of prospective partners \xe2\x80\x93 with a particular focus on health charities, patient groups and community organizations working across the broader health system.

Responsibilities:

Act as a key account manager for national partners to present a single point of contact and coordination to external partners

Build and implement targeted engagement plans within key therapeutic areas aligning partnership and policy outcomes with key business objectives

Support regional planning processes by working in close consultation with AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s Innovative Value & Access, Government Affairs, Payer Relations, commercial and medical teams to ensure consistency and alignment between regional and national planning initiatives and business objectives

Collaborate with internal colleagues (i.e Market Access, Government Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Scientific Affairs, Global Patient Affairs and Global Therapeutic Area Policy) to foster optimal partnerships and highlight relationships with key influencers to achieve business priorities

Work with partners to share new insights, define and communicate harmonies and shared value and communicate knowledge of patient advocacy perspectives to the broader company

Monitor, analyze, provide insight, and make strategic recommendations on engagement priorities to all appropriate internal colleagues. You act a senior counsel to the Director and other AstraZeneca senior leaders (including President and Executive Team) on patient advocacy and therapeutic area/cross therapeutic area/above brand policy issues

Respect and adhere to AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s Code of Conduct and other corporate policies

Qualifications:

Deep knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system and public health environment including the interrelationship between patient advocacy organizations, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare practitioners and governments/payers

University degree in public health (health promotion/health education), political science or business

Proven experience in external, stakeholder-facing roles within the pharmaceutical industry, not-for-profit sector or agency, or health policy

Deep understanding of how to create, broker, and strengthen partnerships

Positively impact and influence others and quickly establish credibility while building strong business relationships; able to uncover myriad needs that align with strategic direction, as well as engage and mobilize diverse partner groups to collaborate on matters of shared interest

Critical analyzer and seek opportunities and challenges that intersect at the individual, business and society (externally) and within and between AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s core therapeutic areas (internally)

Experience working in the respiratory, immunology, infectious diseases/vaccine therapeutic areas is an asset

Understand program measurement and evaluation (asset)

Strong communication and presentation skills allow you to share complex information in dynamic environments

Able to travel across Canada (~20%) (post pandemic)
