JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Manager, Operations (Alberta and Central Ops) is responsible for driving the success of Medicentres Canada in Alberta (Medicentres\xe2\x80\x99 largest division), and leading the Central Ops team as they support the multi-provincial network. This includes providing leadership to the Alberta Operations and Central Operations.

As a member of the Medicentres Senior Leadership team and the ELNA Medical Leadership Team, the Senior Manager, Operations (Alberta and Central Ops) will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategies and initiatives to support the success of the business.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Divisional Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and motivation to the Regional Operations Managers in Alberta.
  • Provide indirect leadership to all members of the operations team in Alberta (approximately 120 clinic managers and staff across 25+ clinics)
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the Central Operations and CSO based Operations Teams (Approximately ten (10) individuals).
  • Provide coaching and performance management for direct reports, and support coaching and performance management for indirect reports.
  • Support physician relations by being the escalation point of contact for questions, queries, concerns.
  • Manage the day-to-day Rexall relationship for Western Canada.
  • Oversee and manage divisional and regional performance goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations team to ensure operational initiatives are planned and executed successfully.
  • Identify, mentor, and promote the development of successors within the operations team.
  • Identify training needs and development plans and ensure compliance of all internal online training programs.
  • Facilitate regular and ongoing team communication via conference calls, meetings, and clinic visits.
Project Management:
  • Provide oversight and support across a variety of initiatives and improvements throughout the organization.
  • Support and in some cases, lead project planning.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts as needed, including maintenance and cleaning.
Business Development:
  • Build and maintain relationships with external agencies including government, Alberta Health Services (AHS), Primary Care Networks (PCNs), College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA), etc.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives, including growth, optimization, and market expansion.
  • Support the growth of clinics in Alberta to achieve Medicentres\xe2\x80\x99 growth strategy and business objectives.
  • Support the acquisition of clinics within Alberta, and/or the integration of clinics into the Medicentres network.
  • Support business development programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in and support community involvement and perception of the Medicentres brand.
Organizational Leadership:
  • Participate as a member of the Medicentres Senior Team and the ELNA Medical Leadership Team, providing guidance and supporting decision making for the organization.
  • Lead and support the ongoing development of a positive workplace culture through staff and physician engagement.
  • Communicate, lead, and support clear expectations of company strategic initiatives and operational standards to the clinic managers and physicians.
  • Exemplify the organization\xe2\x80\x99s core values and ensure staff are aware of organization\xe2\x80\x99s core purpose and core values and are performing to these standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional project teams to advance strategic and operational projects across Medicentres and/or ELNA Medical.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ Years in a Management Role - managing a team of 10 or more people.
  • Experience in a regional leadership capacity overseeing multiple sites, in a customer-focused business.
  • Experience in healthcare is considered an asset.
  • Mentorship focus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams while managing change effectively.
  • Experience managing remote, in-person and hybrid teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be responsive, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Ability to understand, plan and execute budgets and reporting.
  • Ability to travel (valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license is required).
  • Out of city travel (mainly within Canada) is expected to take up to 25-40%
  • Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information Act guidelines.
Education/ Certifications
  • A post-secondary degree in a related field is an asset. Related experience will be taken into account.
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT:

Fast paced environment, where the ability to manage multiple projects and resources while working on several different assignments at the same time and meeting deadlines are essential. Must be able to deliver results and execute judgement under minimal supervision in line with existing policies. Focus is on exceeding financial objectives and customer service standards through identification of opportunities, development, and implementation of action plans within the region. Must be able to interact and build rapport across a range of personality types and show skills in complaint handling and conflict resolution. Extensive travel across the region is required.
