This is a great opportunity; it will allow you to make a positive contribution and have an impact across all our Downstream Manufacturing sites. The Senior Manager Operations Practices is responsible for the development and successful implementation journey of Operational Excellence across multiple plants. Operational excellence focuses on enhancing a company\xe2\x80\x99s performance, primarily through its processes and the way work gets done.This role can be either office-based or site-based role and will require to spend approximately 50% of time in the field to provide mentorship and implementation assistance.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:Overseeing process improvement events, participating in cross-functional project teams, defining and monitoring performance metrics, fostering culture, and mentoring frontline operational excellence leadersEncourages continuous process improvement, prioritizes, organizes, and directs work of others while aligning to Cenovus goals.Responsible for the day-to-day management of ongoing Process Improvement initiatives and delivery of technology automation initiatives involving a medium to elevated level of complexityLeads end-to-end multiple independent functional teams/programs, services, and technologies within an Operations Excellence functionEnsures the right technical methods and established standard processes are employed to drive efficiency and meet key performance indicator objectivesSupport the development and deployment of the Cenovus Operations Excellence Management System (OEMS) Reliability Model.Align Downstream strategically and define vision and business goals (Journey Book) for the Operations Practices function(s) as it relates in support to help Downstream Sites deliver their critical initiatives, programs, and problem solvingIdentifies and solves complex, operational, and organizational problems using the appropriate resources within and outside the departmentWorks within DTS budgetary/financial objectives to implement financial plan and control resources and use data-driven insights to assess performance, identify operational efficiencies, and make informed decisionsDevelops and communicates departmental plans, including business, operations and/or strategic organizational priorities that contribute to OE\xe2\x80\x99s key objectivesWho you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally eligible to work in Canada16+ years of direct confirmed experience, including progressive leadership rolesBachelor\'s degree or higher or equivalent work experienceExperience working in a high hazard environment and knowledge in process safetyKnowledge of core refining, upgrader, and/or petrochemical operations subject areas at plant levelAdvanced ability to work on multiple projects and delivery schedulesExpertise in training and coaching sites in a process-based management systemBroad process-based experience in designing and implementing Operations Excellence Management Systems considered an assetExpertise in large scale transformation efforts related to the implementation of a process-based management system considered an assetWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT September 29th, 2024.If you require accessibility assistance to complete the on-line application or otherwise apply for an open position with Cenovus, its subsidiaries and affiliates, please email .Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Who we are:We\xe2\x80\x99re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining, and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
