will report to the Senior Director, Business Development (Ontario) with a dotted line to the firmwide Communications team. The role is responsible for developing and implementing Ontario's marketing and sponsorship strategy and supporting key marketing initiatives at the firmwide level such as major sponsorships and marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will develop and lead integrated marketing activities to drive awareness and position Fasken as a market leader in targeted client sectors and industries. The candidate will have responsibility for managing and developing the regional Marketing team, ensuring quality and consistency of output and client satisfaction, and the adoption of AI tools and other industry-leading technology trends to optimize campaigns.
Hours of work are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. This is a hybrid role.

Primary Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy
Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy for the Ontario region that drives top-of-mind brand awareness and market leadership in support of business development objectives. Work in collaboration with the lawyers and business development (BD) colleagues to segment our target audiences and ensure top tier positioning with our targeted client sectors and industries.
Develop and lead integrated marketing campaigns to support firm strategic priorities leveraging digital content marketing, sponsorships, conferences, events and thought leadership. Manage firmwide brand campaigns across markets.
Develop and implement a partnership and sponsorship strategy aligned to the regional and firmwide strategic priorities, including partnership development, activation and budgeting. Manage key firmwide partnerships and activations.
Work with the firmwide Communications team to implement firmwide marketing and communications plans regionally, as applicable and report regional results to firmwide team.
Adopt the role of strategic advisor in marketing and communications and contribute to the strategic development, creation and adaptation of different types of content.
Help grow the understanding of the Fasken value proposition and service offerings internally and externally across numerous practice areas. Play a role in promoting multi-practice opportunities.
Regularly report impact of marketing activities, providing insights and recommendations to the Senior Director, Business Development.
Stay on top of industry trends to provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders on effective marketing strategy, including lawyer skills development on effective marketing activities.
Support individual lawyer branding, including the creation of award submissions and promotional materials of regional awards and rankings results.
Ensure the consistent use of the Fasken brand guidelines across all marketing activities.
Team Management and Development
Develop and manage the Ontario region's marketing budget with the Senior Director, Business Development.
Manage the regional Marketing team, ensuring quality and consistency of output and client satisfaction. Look for opportunities to grow the skills of team members and their career path, manage the performance review process and annual goal setting exercise.
Consider use cases for process improvements using AI and required change management, and education.
Required Knowledge and Experience
University degree in marketing, communications, administration, law or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience including 5 years in a team management position
Marketing agency experience preferred
Bilingual (English, French) is an asset
