Job Title Senior Manager, Functions Compliance - 12 to 18 Month Contract


















What is the opportunity? As Senior Manager, Functions Compliance, you provide Second Line of Defense (2LOD) oversight, including advisory and effective challenge, over the Functions and Technology & Operations groups (“Coverage Areas”) in relation to the management of regulatory compliance risks. You ensure the oversight activities are aligned with RBC’s Enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Framework and supporting control standards. The successful candidate will join the Enterprise Compliance team for a 12 to 18 month contract. What will you do?

  • Maintain an advanced knowledge of applicable banking regulations and RCM and working knowledge of Coverage Areas
  • Execute and enhance where required the RCM programs for Coverage Areas to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide RCM policies and control standards
  • Provide advisory, identify potential regulatory compliance risks and control gaps, and partner with Coverage Areas to manage the identified risks/gaps
  • Implement a compliance monitoring and testing program for the Coverage Areas
  • As issue coordinator, identify, document and track Coverage Areas’ regulatory compliance issues to assure they are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
  • Provide the content related to the Coverage Areas in support of the Global Chief Compliance Officer’s Opinion Report
  • As regulatory exam coordinator, support Coverage Areas in the management of regulatory examinations
  • Assist with other initiatives supporting the Enterprise Compliance team
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
  • University degree and professional designation or graduate degree
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Strong skills in business writing and developing presentations for senior audiences
Nice-to-have
  • Relevant Compliance experience overseeing corporate areas of financial institutions
  • Good understanding of RBC corporate areas and related regulatory landscape
  • Subject matter expertise in regulatory requirements, internal controls and strong control evaluation capabilities
  • Experience of working in close partnership with stakeholders at various levels
