What you will be doing:

As the Senior Manager of Fraud Governance and Operations, you will lead and oversee Tangerine Fraud Operations (Mastercard), ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. You will ensure that all appropriate controls towards efficiency of operations, quality, and profitability are maintained, along with mitigating losses, maximizing profitability, and minimizing reputational risk.

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Provide Fraud delivery governance leadership and execution expertise, working with stakeholders across Tangerine and key program vendors, as well as Scotia Risk/Operations areas where appropriate.
  • Lead Tangerine Project fraud risk assessments process up to and including supporting NIRA development and NIRA 2nd line fraud control function response.
  • Develop and lead the New Account Verification (NAV) bank onboarding fraud strategy including the oversight of performance and its management.
  • Develop and implement operational delivery monitoring and governance framework and processes to ensure alignment to Tangerine program objectives and strategy including supporting Loss Prevention Analytics with fraud strategy development and fraud financial performance oversight/monitoring.
  • Lead operational effectiveness and performance management including the oversight of operational change management and provides governance oversight to ensure execution of approved policies and procedures.
  • Develops relationships with functional business teams to support the development of Tangerine risk governance framework and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; provides coaching and mentoring to foster a strong risk discipline environment.
  • Leverage and partner with Loss Prevention Strategy and Analytics resource on strategy enhancements, metrics, key indicators and dashboard delivery.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of loss prevention and fraud operational delivery covering the key Loss Prevention areas of scope: detection, prevention, claims investigations and recovery and Fraud project risk assessments
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We\'d love to work with you if you have:
  • 7-10 years of experience in management and in the financial services industry, with 2+ years directly in Mastercard operations
  • 3-5 years of fraud experience
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience - ability to mentor, set and champion a clear future direction and demonstrate actions expected in others including a high standard of performance
  • Expert judgement/organizational, problem solving, conflict resolution/management, mediation, and negotiation skills
  • Systems knowledge: All internal bank systems including but not limited to: Citadel, TSYS, IntraLink, VRM, VROL, VCAS, Interac, TransUnion, DAWT, PRM, PPM, etc. is an asset
  • Team focus - working effectively with others to achieve common objectives
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with internal and external customers as well as other business partners
  • Thorough knowledge of the related regulatory requirements including AML, KYC, Privacy legislation and all other issues pertaining to the regulatory compliance
  • Branch working experience and bilingualism is considered and asset
