The opportunity
As a FAAS Senior Manager, you will be a professional member of our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. In Canada, our FAAS team consists of dedicated financial reporting and accounting advisory professionals in seven locations across the country. We combine technical accounting skills in IFRS, Canadian and US GAAP, practical experience in financial reporting processes as well as deep sector and regulatory knowledge.
We are now recruiting for an exciting newly created team within FAAS, our Complex Accounting Hub. This team of dedicated technical accounting subject matter resources will act as an accounting center of excellence, focusing on highly complex and/or one-off accounting issues under IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE. Successful candidates will also work as part of our Enhance Corporate Reporting and Accounting group, who support our clients undergoing large-scale accounting changes (new standards and framework changes) and in the accounting and reporting implications of transactions (such as acquisitions, mergers, divestitures and IPOs/SPACs).
Your key responsibilities
As a FAAS Senior Manager, you will help finance leaders address the challenges and ongoing changes facing their business and manage the resulting repercussions on the accounting, reporting and finance function. You will partner with them to achieve their potential in acquisitions, divestitures, optimization/restructuring or accounting standards policy implementation and convergence. In addition, you will create innovative commercial insights for clients, and drive improvements in business processes.
