Senior Manager, External Communications

Job Description




We are looking for a Senior Manager, External Communications to join our Marketing Team. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will enhance our company\'s brand and reputation as a leader in biomedical AI for drug discovery. You will work closely with senior executives, including the CEO, to create a compelling narrative that resonates with both technical experts, high-level decision-makers and industry influencers.

You Will:

    • Be our chief storyteller.
    • Partner with company executives to create our corporate narrative that communicates our competitive differentiation, market position and value we create for our customers.
    • Work with executives and technical stakeholders to distill and communicate complex information in a concise and engaging manner under tight deadlines.
    • Oversee company announcements, press releases, briefings and inquiries; develop content for these activities and collaborating with subject matter experts from the company to support.
    • Enable members of the team to tell our story and be prepared for media inquiries, interviews and other public engagements.
    • Work with stakeholders develop the proof points to support our narrative (stats, accolades, customer quotes, logos, etc.
    • Position BenchSci as a leader in biomedical AI.
    • Develop relationships with external stakeholders, including media outlets, bloggers, and other key individuals or organizations to create opportunities to tell our story and our customers successes.
    • Raise the profile of our CEO and other members of the senior leadership team through thought leadership opportunities in the media and industry events.
    • Own the external communications strategy and execution to reach industry influencers and key decision makers with breaking news, product launches, thought leadership and success stories.
    • Establish KPIs to monitor impact and adjust plans to maximize awareness and credibility in the market.
    • Share success with our customers.
    • Partner with our account teams to understand our customers\' corporate objectives and executive priorities to develop compelling narratives and create co-marketing opportunities.
    • Collaborate with our customers\' corporate communications teams to coordinate approvals and execution


You Have:

    • 7+ years in communications at an agency or in-house, with a track record of impact in high-growth B2B SaaS, preferably in AI or biotech/pharmaceutical industry
    • Strong understanding of the media and PR landscape and relationships with reporters
    • You are a storyteller with excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience managing social media and other digital marketing channels.
    • Experience in executive event planning and thought leadership
    • You have executive presence to work with the C-suite and the ability to influence and counsel senior management
    • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, scientific research industry and related fields is a plus.
