What is the opportunity?
Speed to market in delivering a best-in-case Digital experience that clients can trust is essential to maintaining P&CB\xe2\x80\x99s market leadership position while aligning with RBC\xe2\x80\x99s vision of being a Digitally-Enabled relationship bank. The Senior Manager Digital Business Risk Manager will be instrumental in supporting a streamlined and robust risk assessment process for new and innovative digital capabilities and features. Your job includes in working with the product owners to ensure the appropriate risks and controls are codified for the respective assessments, promulgate and iterate on best risk practices within the Digital and Journey programs and help senior management understand Digital\xe2\x80\x99s risk profile.
What will you do?
Trusted risk partner to Journey and other program initiatives \xe2\x80\x93 building relationships with key stakeholders, ensure adherence to risk requirements, manage risk identification and training, support delivery cycles by advising on risk assessments to be completed.
Ensures Digital and Business staff understand, document and escalate digital risks, including those associated with another line of business or RBC entity for the benefit of Canadian Banking or the Enterprise through the appropriate risk assessments Partners with each of the applicable Three Lines of Defense risk partners to understand risks and emerging issues, ensuring they are properly articulated and reported
Escalates of all significant risk issues and events to support effective resolution
Support monthly compliance monitoring and reporting for Digital including SMT dashboards and Archer Findings
Actively engages direct manager and Digital SMT in strategic planning and prioritization to ensure appropriate resources are allocated to risk mitigation and controls development and sustainment
Supports the Digital Journey Agile Risk Management process, including conducting Ways of Working sessions for risk partners and Digital staff assigned to work on Digital Agile programs or initiatives
Ensures high quality execution of risk control and mitigation activities such as:
Ensuring completion of risk assessments;
Completion of approval conditions; and
Documentation, testing and monitoring of controls.
Actively identifies areas of opportunity to streamline the risk assessment process to enable accelerated delivery cadence without compromising risk posture and governance requirements
Collaboration with line of business risk managers on policy and regulation changes that may impact Digital
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Experience in financial services sector
Proven business acumen and credibility
Strong influencing, collaboration, relationship building and communication skills
Strategic mindset, with significant knowledge and understanding of RBC businesses and organization
Proven change management capabilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, inquisitive nature and comfort challenging current practices
A commitment to streamlined and effective processes for maximum business efficiency while ensuring appropriate governance
Nice to have:
Agile certification or training;
Solid working knowledge of banking operations and the financial services regulatory landscape, ideally with several years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Risk Management, Compliance or Internal Audit
