Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Process Improvement, the Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement will lead process and project management initiatives within the Finance Enterprise Business Services (EBS) organization.


Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a highly motivated, tech-savvy and results-oriented individual to lead project management initiatives within our Finance Enterprise Business Services (EBS), organization. This pivotal role will lead complex projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, standardizing financial processes, and leveraging innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence, (AI), to achieve business continuity and foster lean methodologies across the Finance division.

Responsibilities:



Lead project management:



Manage complex finance-related projects from initiation to successful completion utilizing Agile methodologies. Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation and budget as applicable. Monitor and report on project progress, identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure projects are delivered on time. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, business operations and senior leadership.

Drive Continuous Improvement:



Identify, analyze, and prioritize opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the finance teams of Inventory, P2P, O2C, R2R, and People Services. Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to analyze current state processes, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and design future state solutions. Identify and implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of improvement and ensure sustained benefits.

Champion Agile Methodology:



Act as an Agile advocate and leader, guiding finance teams in the adoption and implementation of Agile principles and practices. Coach product owners and development teams on Agile roles, responsibilities, and practices to maximize value delivery. Serve as the conduit between technology, analytics, digital and the finance team to support projects.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:



Partner closely with finance team members, IT, and other business units to understand strategic objectives and translate them into actionable projects and improvement initiatives. Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, effectively managing expectations and communicating project status, challenges, and successes. Influence decision-making and drive organizational change through data-driven insights and compelling recommendations. Investigate root cause analysis of issues as they arise and put in place preventative measures to mitigate reoccurrence.

Creative problem solver and strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:



Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience implementing and integrating process improvement initiatives within a finance function. Project Management/ PMP designation required. Expertise and certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies considered an asset. 5-7 years of project management and business transformation experience, including tracking and planning. Strong understanding of financial processes and systems, SAP, Service Now Advanced level of proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Power of BI, and Outlook. Advanced level of Jira/Confluence/Kanban boards and PMI methodologies such as scrum, agile and hybrid models. Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
