We have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Manager, Content Partnerships to join our Content team.

As a Senior Manager, Content Partnerships, you will manage and proactively develop a portfolio of content partners across the globe. You will build strong long-lasting relationships, provide the support partners may need and you will drive revenue in your assigned region. As a keen communicator, you will negotiate commercial terms with existing and future business partners, and collaborate closely with many internal teams.

Aiming for a comprehensive and immersive content offering, you will engage your creative and analytical skills to drive success for content providers and PressReader, including distribution, revenue, and reader attraction and engagement.

In this role, you will:

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, developing and managing content partnerships in targeted countries around the world for the PressReader platform (Newsstand and Print).
  • Act as a senior member of the Content Group, providing leadership and coaching to other team members.
  • Acquire key content in assigned countries/regions as well as retain strategically important content on the platform, using country-level analyses to inform decision making.
  • Negotiate contracts with new content partners as well as renegotiation of old contracts for existing publishers.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with content partners, fostering regular communications to identify opportunities as well as the resolution of any issues in a timely manner.
  • Management of team processes/tasks that are integral to the performance of the Content Group.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive content requirements and revenue across the business, working closely with internal teams such as Content Integration, Branded Editions, Marketing, Accounting, Legal and the various B2B sales teams.
  • Develop and expand revenue opportunities within target countries, utilizing partner relationships and business plans to drive PressReader targets as well as key objectives for content providers.
  • Deliver qualified leads to Branded Editions team to assist with sales of PressReader's white label solution.
  • Participate and represent PressReader at various trade events internationally as well as in-person meetings within target countries (dependent on the Canadian government's guidelines relating to COVID-19 and restrictions for international travel).
You are a great fit if you have:
  • At least 5 years of experience in Account Management or Sales
  • Experience in people management or coaching
  • Fluency in a second language, preferably German
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
  • Good negotiation skills and you enjoy building positive relationships
  • The ability to handle conflicting priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Plenty of ambition and motivation. You are always learning and self-improving
  • A highly collaborative mindset and you are able to work independently with a lot of autonomy
  • A positive approach, a can-do attitude and a sense of humor. This one is non-negotiable.
  • Availability to travel internationally as needed, once the pandemic subsides
Bonus points if you:
  • Have knowledge of the publishing industry, evidenced by a deep knowledge of industry trends, regional differences, leaders and global brands
  • Have experience negotiating commercial terms in a contractual format
  • Are a regular consumer of content and are an avid reader. You have diverse tastes in magazines and newspapers, and can articulate what these publications mean to you
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector
