Job Title: Senior Manager, Credit Adjudication
Department: Risk Management Department
Reports to: Director, Credit Adjudication, RMD
Our global banking client is seeking a Senior Manager, Credit Adjudication to support the Director, Credit Adjudication in evaluating and adjudicating all deals (Commercial, Corporate & Residential) submitted for approvals. This role will involve overseeing the loan book of the Bank, ensuring high credit quality assets, and contributing to the development and operationalization of the adjudication process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide effective challenge of in-depth loan analysis performed by the underwriting team, ensuring well-reasoned approvals.
Evaluate loan cases to make sound lending decisions according to established Bank Policies and Procedures.
Verify all relevant information required for in-depth loan analysis and ensure lending decisions comply with policy, guidelines, and regulatory expectations.
Offer alternative structures and/or funding conditions as appropriate to resolve adjudication challenges.
Review credit packages for compliance, structural soundness, and creditworthiness.
Provide oversight over loans adjudicated by managers/junior adjudicators to ensure prudent credit risk assessment.
Make lending decisions within authority limits or present cases to the Director Adjudication/Loan Committee when exceeding lending authority.
Review due diligence conducted regarding appraisal, environmental site assessment, and building condition assessment reports.
Research and maintain records relating to market conditions.
Make recommendations and provide ad-hoc credit risk reports to management.
Document functional requirements and liaise with internal stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to Policy, Procedure, and Guidelines, collaborating with CRD Underwriting and other Head Office departments.
Support responses to recommendations/requests from regulatory bodies and internal audit.
Support initiatives for operational efficiencies and enhanced work management practices in credit dispensation.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred.
5+ years of directly related work experience in Commercial, Corporate & Residential Credit Areas.
Solid understanding of Commercial banking / Syndicated loan business.
Financial statement, cash flow, and credit analysis skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, Bloomberg/Reuters.
Familiarity with OSFI\'s B-20 guidelines and legal documentation.
Strong understanding of lending and trading products.
People management experience preferred.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and government regulations.
Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
