THE ROLE


Key Accountabilities


Demonstrates, promotes and advocates the Wing Kei vision, mission and core values in day-to-day operations Ensures effective maintenance of Wing Kei's facilities, with priority being safety in each environment and compliance with relevant government legislations and standards Assists the Director of Hospitality and Facilities to implement corporate facilities plans including due diligence and planning to ensure well-maintained facilities, supplier/vendor sourcing and relations, and customer service to other departments Acts as a consultant for the Project Development team as needed for transition planning on renovations and from building completion to fully-operational phase Manages on-site work orders and requests; regularly analyzing and assessing efficiency, reporting significant findings from system reports Leads the critical thinking and problem solving for preventative and safety measures related to our facilities, ensuring repair and maintenance work is completed responsively and promptly; mentors own team members in technical know-how and prioritizing Manages resources with integrity; providing input when change is required for policies and procedures Coordinates and leads as required regular exterior and interior building inspection; monitors facility security and infection controls, and conducts emergency response training/dry runs Supports the procurement and inventory controls for the Facilities team Demonstrates strong teamwork, accountability, effective communications and collaboration in day-to-day work

Is aligned with Wing Kei's corporate vision, mission and core values Journeyman certificates as Plumber, Gas-Fitter, Electrician an asset Extensive working knowledge and expertise in HVAC system and thermostatic control an asset Has 5+ years' experience in both: 1) facilities maintenance and operations management AND 2) trades certification common to Continuing Care Facilities Maintenance requirements Keen eye for detail; committed to meeting all standards Passion for excellence in building and "fixing"; manages well through solving both complex and day-to-day issues; knowledge of government regulations in building trades, familiar with occupational hazards and safety precautions and can be "hands-on" if needed in facilities maintenance Exhibits consistent critical thinking and problem-solving skills; patience in working through resolutions that impact other departments Resourceful and collaborative in emergent / urgent situations; skilled in coordinating multiple trades if required Demonstrates strong capability to prioritize requests, delegate appropriately and meet deadlines Skilled in developing and maintaining interpersonal rapport Maintains positive attitude and professionalism in fielding requests / questions competing for the team's time and attention Possess effective communication skills; ability to communicate in Chinese an asset but not required Proficiency in Office software preferred; experience with maintenance-care software would be a bonus How to Apply:
