Look no further than ZRS, Canada.If you have experience in Machinery Industry segment are looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Senior Machinery Breakdown Specialist to manage and coordinate internal and external business partners to oversee national boiler and pressure vessel jurisdictional service.Reporting to the Manager, Business Transformation & Account Engineering, you will manage and coordinate internal and external business partners to ensure compliance with regional jurisdictional regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machinery breakdown insurance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.This is a unique opportunity to build your knowledge and experience for the future in a supportive environment where your voice matters.What you will do:

  • Translate business objectives into clearly defined business cases, costs or schedules in order to support achievement of a work area.
  • Where appropriate, lead the implementation of initiatives to improve processes, develop policies and support innovation in the risk engineering field.
  • Ensure compliance with jurisdictional regulations and standards in provinces where required (e.g. Ontario, Quebec etc.)
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to facilitate timely and accurate service.
  • Managing industry databases to ensure compliance standards are met (e.g. TSSA, RBQ, JO etc.)
  • Support in regulatory compliance audits
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize risk and improve claims management processes.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to clients regarding machinery breakdown coverage and claims.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in machinery breakdown insurance.
  • Prepare and present reports on claim status, trends, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Provides basic level training for customers, service design and coordination, marketing, and loss investigations.
Job QualificationsWhat you bring to the table:Required:
  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area within the boiler and machinery industry segment.
OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to machinery breakdown insurance or a related field.
OR
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to machinery breakdown insurance or a related field.
AND
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
Preferred:
  • Hold an active BPV Inspectors Certificate and/or provide proof TSSA's Certificate of Competency or completion of National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Exam (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machinery breakdown insurance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of jurisdictional regulations and standards related to machinery breakdown.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using insurance and claims management software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word)
