JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Applications Technical Specialist is responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing data conversions, integrations, reports, and applications related to business workflows as well as engineering execution workflows. This developer is expected to be able to find a fit-for-purpose solution based on a provided problem statement and desired outcome. The development activities will require utilizing SQL, .NET, VBA, and Microsoft Power Platform skills. This position requires a certain level of resourcefulness as it is a dynamic role that supports the region and works with minimal input. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Align solutions to the company\xe2\x80\x99s policies, standards, and system environment.
  • Responsible for working with internal clients to understand business requirements and design specifications.
  • Build solutions using the Power Platform (PowerBI, Power Automate, and Power Apps) or custom web-based applications.
  • Converting and cleansing data to make it useful for reporting and applications.
  • SQL database design, development, and light administration
  • Gathering, documenting, and presenting requirements
  • Designing and documenting solutions
  • Building and/or configuring solutions
  • Internal testing of the solution and preparing documentation for external testing
  • Deployment and continued support of the solution


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Relevant experience working as a .NET software developer or applications specialist
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a deadline-oriented environment with little supervision.
  • Conceptual thinker that can operate with minimal guidance and vague problem statements.
  • Able to work with complex systems.
  • Must have SQL Server experience (writing stored procedures, views, tables, triggers etc).
  • Must have .NET (C#) and VBA experience.
  • Must have Power Platform experience (PowerBI, Power Automate, and PowerApps)
  • Python scripting experience will be an asset.
  • REST API experience is a strong asset.
  • RPA using Power Automate desktop will be an asset.
  • Azure experience will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of EPC world experience and project execution workflow and business processes will be an asset.
  • Minimum of a degree or diploma in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Self-learner and able to learn new tools quickly.
  • Ability to provide versatile solutions; sometimes \xe2\x80\x9cgood enough\xe2\x80\x9d is needed and other times the \xe2\x80\x9cperfect\xe2\x80\x9d solution is required.
  • Possess the soft skills required for interaction with internal customers and team members.
  • Great communication skills in English to facilitate working with a team located all over the globe.
