We are seeking a Senior Family Law Legal Assistant who is experienced, organized, and proactive. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and play an essential role in helping families through important transitions.

Position Overview



As a Senior Legal Assistant - Family Law, you will provide high-level support to lawyers in a busy Family Law and Mediation/Arbitration practice. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage files independently, stay ahead of deadlines, and anticipate next steps confidently.

You will bring a strong understanding of court filing procedures, document preparation, and Family Law processes, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities



Draft, review, and prepare correspondence, pleadings, and court documents File documents with all levels of Court (in person and electronically) Manage disclosure requests and organize client materials Maintain efficient electronic and paper filing systems Liaise with lawyers, clients, and court staff regarding case progress Track deadlines and limitation dates; create diarization entries Prepare and process accounts using ESILaw Conduct Land Titles searches and other due diligence Perform general administrative duties, including scanning, conflict searches, file openings/closings, and dictation

Qualifications and Skills



Legal Assistant Diploma (required) 5+ years of experience in Family Law (required) Strong knowledge of Family Law rules, procedures, and deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) Experience with ESILaw (asset) Experience with NetDocuments or other document management systems (asset) Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading ability Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to handle multiple urgent priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
