Job Description

Responsibilities:



Opening, maintaining, and closing client files for storage Preparing and editing correspondence, legal documents, motion records, affidavits, and court materials (both electronically and in hard copy) Using ACL software and GhostPractice to manage files and documents Organizing cases for court and filing documents as per court procedures Managing correspondence in document management systems (both digital and paper) Preparing internal and external communications (letters, emails, memos, phone calls) Managing client file deadlines and the BF system Maintaining lawyers' calendars, scheduling appointments, web meetings, and conference calls Docketing, preparing, and following up on invoices and outstanding accounts Dictation, faxing, photocopying, and scanning as required

Qualifications:



Minimum 10 years of experience Strong knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure, the Construction Act, and Liens Legal Assistant/Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience preferred Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with ACL and GhostPractice is a plus Fluency in English; French skills are an asset
