Ecolab is seeking a Senior Lab Technician in our Burlington facility. In this role, you will apply advanced chemical theories and principles in providing Quality Assurance and Process services for outgoing products and incoming raw materials. Concentration is on developing professional expertise, judgment and maturity in order to understand the purpose, priority and important parameters of Quality Assurance work.What\xe2\x80\x99s in it For You:

What You Will Do:
  • Provide Quality Assurance testing of all products and raw materials in a manner consistent with all site and corporate standards.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance documentation in accordance with the site Quality Management System.
  • Evaluate off-specification and abnormal products and intermediates and determine appropriate corrective action. Work with plant personnel to implement corrective actions to address production related problems (i.e. batch adjustments, filtration, etc.).
  • Responsible for providing accurate and prompt interpretation and communication of Quality Assurance concerns.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Responsible for adhering to, and setting good example for, safe work practices for the manufacturing group.
Position Details:
  • Plant location: Burlington, ON (Brant Street & QEW)
  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Work Scheduled: Work will be scheduled within 7:00am to 7:00pm, based on business need.
Physical Demands:
  • Work is completed in a Chemical Manufacturing Quality Control lab with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, occasional work in the production plant will be required.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment including goggles, gloves, safety shoes etc.
  • Modest pressure from deadlines/standards; repetitious work.
  • Frequent periods of standing or sitting. Occasional movement or lifting of light material/equipment (max. 20 kg).
Education and Experience Required:
  • BSc Degree in Chemistry or equivalent field of study.
  • Familiarity with standard, modern analytical techniques and equipment.
  • 2 - 4 years of lab technician/quality control experience.
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and the characterization and preparation of materials used in routine and special procedures
  • A high attention to detail and quality in results
  • Must be able to establish and meet deadlines to produce independent results
  • Customer service focus and able to work well with other team members
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous priorities simultaneously
