AECOM is currently seeking Senior ITS Transportation Specialists to join our Transportation Business Line in Ontario.

Has the passion and pursuit of Transportation Technology been a key pursuit of yours? AECOM Canada is looking for people passionate about transportation and who want to be involved in the next generation of transportation technologies. With emerging fields such as electrification, sustainable transportation, automated and connected vehicles, Hyperloop and EVToLs all developing as areas of increased growing interest, there is a need for those interested in the field to provide research, guidance, and studies to advise on their applications.

Successful candidates will be expected to work on a range of projects for respected municipal, provincial, and federal clients as well as other public and private entities. Projects will include a range of feasibility studies, business cases, implementation plans and policy support. This role will include the opportunity to work on exciting projects as well as develop personal skills and grow your career.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for transportation. The role will offer candidates the opportunity to explore the many aspects of the transportation sector and can be a platform for launching an exciting and interesting career in the profession.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing and contributing to ITS designs and recommendations, EV site plans and strategies and transportation studies;
  • Analyzing transportation data and conducting/ assisting in traffic and transit analysis;
  • Assist in developing project specifications, quantity calculations and cost estimates;
  • Attend project meetings, and interface with clients and other engineers;
  • Developing and managing content for presentations, reports, and proposals;
  • Researching industry standard / best practices;
  • Participating in site visits and field work;
  • Performing data collection and analysis;
  • Writing and editing technical reports;
  • Working with a team of transportation/traffic engineers, planners, and designers to assess transportation, traffic, and transit conditions;
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends, software, and technology;
  • Other duties as assigned/required;
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Computer Science + 4 years experience in ITS Design or ATMS operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate degrees in an applicable field is desirable;
  • Strong interest and passion for ITS, related infrastructure systems, and technology;
  • Strong technical writing skills;
  • Good communication and time management skills;
  • Interested in pursuing professional accreditation;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software;
  • Passionate about transportation and urban planning;
  • A positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with others;
