WHAT IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to join our dynamic engineering organization. As a Senior Scrum Master, you will be instrumental in driving agile transformation and ensuring delivery excellence across multiple high-impact projects. You will lead agile ceremonies, facilitate team collaboration, and work closely with product owners and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
This role requires a results-driven professional with deep expertise in Jira and Jira Plans, capable of running both Scrum and Kanban frameworks effectively. You will be responsible for negotiating deadlines, tracking story progress, and ensuring teams deliver on their commitments while maintaining high quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of coaching teams to peak performance, removing impediments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in fast-paced, technology-driven environments.
What will you do?
Agile Framework Leadership
Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Implement and optimize Kanban workflows for continuous delivery teams
Coach teams on agile best practices and help them achieve self-organization
Ensure adherence to agile principles while adapting frameworks to meet business needs
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and help teams mature their agile practices
Jira and Project Management Excellence
Configure and manage complex Jira projects, workflows, and custom fields
Utilize Jira Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) for program-level planning and tracking
Create and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports for stakeholder visibility
Implement automation rules and workflows to streamline processes
Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all Jira instances
Train team members on Jira best practices and advanced features
Stakeholder Management and Negotiation
Work closely with Product Owners to ensure story readiness and backlog refinement
Negotiate realistic deadlines and delivery commitments with stakeholders
Facilitate discussions between development teams and business stakeholders
Manage scope changes and communicate impact on timelines and resource Follow up with story owners to ensure deliverables meet acceptance criteria
Escalate blockers and risks to appropriate leadership levels
Results-Driven Delivery Management
Track and report on team velocity, sprint burn-down, and delivery metrics
Identify and remove impediments that impact team productivity
Ensure stories are properly estimated, documented, and meet definition of ready
Monitor progress against commitments and proactively address delivery risks
Facilitate dependency management across multiple teams and project
Drive accountability for sprint goals and story completion
Team Coaching and Development
Coach team members on agile methodologies and self-organization principles
Facilitate conflict resolution and promote healthy team dynamics
Mentor junior scrum masters and share best practices across the organization
Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning
Support career development and growth for team members
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must-have:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Project Management, or related field
5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in software development environments
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification required
Deep expertise in Jira administration, configuration, and advanced features
Hands-on experience with Jira Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) for program management
Proven experience running both Scrum and Kanban methodologies effectively
Strong negotiation skills with ability to manage stakeholder expectations
Results-driven mindset with track record of successful project delivery
Experience working with Product Owners and managing story lifecycle
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments with changing priorities
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret metrics and drive improvements
Nice-to-have:
Advanced Scrum Master certifications (CSP-SM, PSM II, or SAFe SPC)
Jira administration certification
Experience with Confluence for documentation and knowledge management
Knowledge of scaled agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus)
Experience in financial services or regulated industries
Background in software development or technical project management
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools (Tableau)
Experience with agile transformation initiatives
Understanding of lean principles and waste elimination techniques
