Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an experienced professional in either Edmonton or Calgary who is passionate about driving success and reaching objectives by sharing their expertise in internal auditing for the role of Senior Internal Auditor. It is an exciting time to be a part of our Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management team as we strive to achieve our fundamental goal to provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of AHS\' governance, risk management, financial and management controls, and operations. As the Senior Internal Auditor, you will report to the Director, Internal Audit, and work closely with an Internal Audit Manager, to contribute to a diverse range of challenging operational assurance, advisory and investigative projects. You will support both Operational and Financial audits. Your strong analytical and critical thinking skills will help you identify opportunities for improvement and provide value-add advice and recommendations to management. You will bring excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with your Internal Audit team members and a variety of stakeholders, and draft clear and concise reports. As part of a project team, you will focus on contributing to the planning, execution and reporting of Internal Audit projects included in our risk-based Internal Audit Plan. Description:

As the Senior Internal Auditor, with support from your project team and utilizing your competencies related to leading-self and achieving results, you will plan and conduct projects which comply with professional auditing standards. With the understanding of AHS\' objectives and risks at a strategic, operational and project specific level, you will interpret and analyze information to identify and document relevant exceptions. You will contribute to risk assessments, Audit Plans and Terms of Reference, as well as Audit Reports - formulating advice and recommendations to management. Additionally, this role will involve working independently on multiple projects while meeting project timelines. You may also be required to provide coaching to CPA students.

Required Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree, in business or accounting. CPA accounting designation in good standing. Three to five years of experience in internal or external audit.
Additional Required Qualifications:

A cover letter is required with your application outlining the following items: Experience conducting financial, operational and/or compliance audits. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build effective and positive relationships with team and clients. Ability to deal with highly complex or sensitive issues in a proper manner. Strong organizational skills. Strong critical thinking skills and concern resolution. Experience with data analytics ACL/Galvanize, Tableau, other).
Preferred Qualifications:

Internal audit designation such as CIA or CISA. Experience working within an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Experience with project management. Experience conducting IT audits. Working knowledge of audit software such as TeamMate Plus.
