THE COMPANY
Our client, a successful and award-winning Architecture, Interior Design, and Planning firm in Calgary, is currently looking to add a dynamic and talented Interior Designer to their team. This firm is known for its superb portfolio of high-end, quality design work across a range of project typologies and they strive for a commitment to quality in all that they do. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Interior Design Lead to develop into a Director title and grow within the firm.

THE JOB
The Interior Designer\'s skillset will encompass a strong understanding of the process of design, design sensibility, and aesthetics, and will include experience managing projects both small and large scale from inception to completion. Projects will focus on high-end hospitality spaces such as hotel interiors, some restaurant work, luxury residential, mixed-use and other types of high-end commercial projects. The role will also have you provide planning services to ensure optimal use of space and will develop occupancy and logistical options to achieve client needs. This individual will work both autonomously and in teams to develop design concepts, plans and forecasts according to client needs, with consideration to factors such as cost, budget, timelines, context and location. For an individual extremely passionate and competent in hospitality design, a position as a Lead or Director of Hospitality design would be potentially available.

The successful candidate will be providing strong leadership and you will take responsibility for all aspects of the delivery of projects including coordination of design, production, contract administration, and financial success. You will have support from others to ensure project deliverables are met, whilst also liaising with clients and municipal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

WHAT\'S REQUIRED
To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor in Interior design or similar and will ideally have between 7 and 20 years years of industry experience. You will have experience working on a range of project types including some hospitality, commercial work.. A strong capability with design, schematic and conceptual design and design sensibility is essential for this role. Understand of different surfaces and materials, working with suppliers and knowledge of aesthetic qualities is highly desirable. Finally, a creative, outgoing and committed attitude with excellent communication skills is essential for this role. NCIDQ required and Licensed Designer with the AAA is an asset but not essential. Must be capable using experience using Revit and possess a very strong portfolio of work.
