We are looking for an Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst for a 6-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.This role is 100% on site, downtown Calgary.Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Senior IT Infrastructure Analyst - Generalist to join our innovative and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing complex IT environments, encompassing Microsoft Azure cloud solutions, on-premises infrastructures, and advanced backup and disaster recovery solutions. This role requires a versatile professional with exceptional technical acumen, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic setting.Responsibilities
Microsoft Azure & Cloud Solutions Management:

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications and data workloads within Microsoft Azure.
  • Optimize Remote Desktop Services (RDS) or Microsoft Virtual Desktop solutions for seamless performance.
  • Ensure compliance, security, and scalability of cloud operations.
Virtualization & Microsoft Hyper-V Management:
  • Deploy, configure, and administer Hyper-V environments, including live migrations and virtual machine management.
  • Perform routine monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting to enhance virtualization performance.
Backup & Disaster Recovery (Veeam):
  • Design, implement, and manage Veeam Backup & Replication solutions, including Veeam for Microsoft 365.
  • Oversee on-premises storage area network (SAN) systems to ensure backup integrity.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and documentation.
Database & System Administration:
  • Collaborate with contracted partners to oversee and enhance the infrastructure and environments supporting SQL Server and Oracle databases.
  • Perform updates, patch management, and routine maintenance across servers and workstations.
  • Monitor infrastructure for uptime, security, and performance, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
  • Utilize advanced tools such as SolarWinds for proactive system monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Respond swiftly to incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
Required Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in Windows Server Administration.
  • Proven expertise in Azure, RDS, and database management (SQL Server and Oracle).
  • Proficiency with Veeam, SAN storage, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challenges.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing requests and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and adaptable to change.
  • Familiarity with Exchange Online Administration and SolarWinds Monitoring is advantageous.
