Job Description

INTRO
The Senior HR Analyst leverages human resource and business information through the use of data analysis and strategic problem solving to model and present critical information that facilities sound decision making at various levels, focusing on human resource and talent management. The incumbent will develop and produce ad hoc and standard metrics providing accurate and high quality analysis of key indicators, including outcomes, quality & safety, data standards and funding and ensure continuous improvement.

Working closely with business leaders, this role will deliver enterprise-wide solutions for complex data challenges, including developing and applying algorithmic models to derive insights, improve decision making, and automate processes. They will support the short term and long term strategic people planning for both the human resources function and all business lines across the organization. The analyst will conduct analysis of key human resource indicators to measure CNLs success in attracting, recruiting and maintain top talent, supporting a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization, identifying areas with the largest employee risk, and identify areas for improving internal human resource programs and process to create a sustainable organization. Additionally this role will play a vital part in addressing the reporting needs of the organization and the analyst will help review analyses results, develop insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reduction and facilitate strategic business decisions. These decisions will assist in the creation of functional people strategies including developing short and long term forecasts for resource needs.

The decision analyst will also collaborate with analysts in other areas of the organization to drive solutions that will streamline reporting through automated solutions, leveraging technology and removing the need to manually manipulate data prior to compiling reports.

DUTIES

  • Working with various HR tools (Oracle, Taleo, Power BI ) to identify reporting issues, and to create a single source of truth and reporting
  • Defines business requirements for technical specialists and/or acts as a focal point to conduct analyses on the feasibility of development activities. Provides advice and develops and presents solutions in order to resolve complex reporting issues. Tests upgrades, and investigates and troubleshoots problems.
  • Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of administrative issues and solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with developing data strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet or exceed expectations in a dynamic environment; experience creating tools and capabilities to assist with data discovery & collaboration, ensure data quality, and to load, clean, enrich, manage, and share data and metadata from a variety of sources
  • Understands key human resource and operational drivers of performance and integrates these into human resource models for analysis and forecasting in order to assess progress being made toward business goals and objectives.
  • Analyses monthly, quarterly, and year over year results and trends; produces and updates rolling forecast and ensures accuracy and integrity of data and information used resulting in the ability to anticipate and clarify future issues, risks and opportunities.
  • Assesses risk and analyzes proposed alternatives for corrective actions to meet plan objectives and targets and escalates as necessary. Conducts proactive trend analyses with best practice reviews.
  • Promotes consistent implementation and use of corporate human resource policies, processes, guidelines and tools in order to maintain integrity, safeguard corporate assets, and mitigate risk.
  • Identifies and standardizes the use of data, analytics and related artificial intelligence capabilities. Builds and sustains a center of excellence from the ground up; this includes the governance of algorithms used for data analysis.
  • Identify and Define Data & Analytics Investments: Works with business and IT, Finance, Program Management Office leaders to identify areas of technical needs for future data science, reporting and modelling capabilities.
  • Develop and gives oral presentations on the power and value of data, analysis and business intelligence.
  • Applies expert knowledge and mastery of advanced mathematics/statistical/computer science methods, theories, and standards to analyze enterprise results and reports, relevant business cases and investment papers, and contract documents.
  • Develop and maintain analytics solutions to generate reports and data that will enable systemic improvement in CNL's services on an ongoing and repeatable basis. Examples include: metrics reporting and analysis, service dashboards, savings reporting, contract compliance analysis
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Completed bachelor's degree in business intelligence, computer science, statistics or related discipline
Experience
  • 7+ years' experience working in data analytics specializing in Human Resources
  • 5+ years' experience using Microsoft Power BI as a single source reporting tool
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology/software/systems, understanding of HR technology, systems, HR data and reporting and experience with HRIS and reporting/ data visualization
  • Excellent presentation skills, able to tailor information to the audience
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Experience with Sharepoint Online and SQL considered an asset
  • Strong diplomatic skills and ability to help senior business leaders see value, opportunities, and risks beyond their own area of expertise
  • Excellent team building and leadership skills and experience.
  • Sound organizational, analytical, judgment and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving.
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the fields of data management and data analytics
