The Human Resources team at Northland is expanding, and we are looking for an HR leader to join our team as Senior Human Resources Manager for the Northland Restaurant Group. This role is based out of our Vancouver office and supports multiple restaurant brands, including Moxies, Chop, Shark Club, Boulevard, and Tavern. This role provides mentorship to team members part of the Restaurants HR team and support to multi-unit operations leaders.
The successful candidate will assist in creating, implementing, organizing and executing HR initiatives and programs to support our company's overall business strategy and objectives. You will be directly involved in all facets of the HR department, including but not limited to, employer of choice programs, recruiting, policies and procedures, HRIS, employee relations and operations partnerships.

Your Responsibilities
Oversee HR initiatives like talent assessments, employee engagement projects, training initiatives, and admin support for systems and tactics
Develop and implement HR programs and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
Support the senior leadership and the restaurant operations teams by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions. Provide support with documentation, sitting in with sensitive conversations and in partnership with Operations lead difficult conversations
Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing our organizational values
Manages health & safety initiatives, ensures compliance through monthly restaurant meetings, supports and addresses findings from ministry audits, and implements H&S improvements to maintain regulatory standards
Oversee employee hotline complaints and employee conduct and behaviour investigations
Lead full-cycle internal investigations
Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards
Participate in company meetings
Execute employee engagement surveys, analyze the results and work with the senior leadership team to create action plans based on the results
Lead employee focus groups, summarize and analyze the information gathered and then work with senior operations leaders to create action plans to address any concerns
Provide advice and counsel to department leads on all recruitment processes
Continually research emerging HR trends in our industry and the overall HR industry, making recommendations to senior leadership as applicable
Skills and Experience
Proven leadership experience within HR, people and culture, or similar; leadership experience in restaurants or the hospitality industry is considered a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field; CPHR designation would be preferred
A sharp business acumen partnered with high ethical standards
Excellent leadership capabilities with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Skilled in MS Office; experience with Dayforce or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is beneficial
Exceptional ability to build rapport with employees, senior leadership and vendors
Some travel required outside of BC, we're partners with our restaurants, and bi-monthly location visits are ideal
