bout the Role
The Senior HR Business Partner is the on-site HR leader for Red Deer Resort & Casino. Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, this role provides both strategic partnership and hands-on support across all departments. You will lead the on-site HR team, guide leaders through people-related decisions, oversee employee relations, and ensure consistent, compliant HR practices across the property.
You'll play a key role in strengthening culture, improving accountability, and supporting leaders and employees through strong, reliable, and professional HR service.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to support workforce planning, staffing needs, and organizational culture.
Lead employee relations, including investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and performance management.
Oversee recruitment for leadership and high-impact roles across the resort and casino.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to managers on people issues and leadership expectations.
Lead and mentor the HR Advisor and HR Coordinator to ensure consistent HR service.
Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards, AGLC regulations, OH&S requirements, and internal policies.
Support HR program rollout from the VP, HR, including performance management, policy updates, training, and engagement initiatives.
Prepare and analyze HR metrics to support decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, clarity, and consistency across departments.

Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
7+ years of progressive HR generalist or HRBP experience.
Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
Strong knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, OH&S, and HR best practices.
Experience coaching leaders in a fast-paced environment; hospitality or gaming experience is an asset.
Proven ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and navigate sensitive situations.
Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
CPHR designation or active candidacy is an asset.
