The Opportunity - Senior Human Resources Business Partner

You will be supporting Technical departments to develop and tailor HR strategies, programs, policies and guidelines to support the achievement of business objectives. You will also advise and coach leaders on developing and engaging their teams. Focus areas include performance management, employee relations, investigations, HR program deployment, workforce planning, organizational design, change management, succession and talent planning and employee rewards.

NOTE: This role can be worked remotely. Might require Ad-hoc in person meetings in Toronto, Ontario.

What You\'ll Do as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to business executives and leaders on tactics to enhance employee productivity, retention, and engagement, aligning with FreshBooks\' culture, values, and mission to achieve our OKRs.
  • Be the main point of contact for all queries related to human resources for employees and business executives, interpreting HR processes, developing business objectives, discussing goals, challenges, and addressing concerns.
  • Effectively manage employee relations by identifying and resolving issues, while proactively addressing the root causes for lasting resolutions.
  • Drive organizational success by proactively using HR data to guide group leaders, solve complex challenges, identify trends, and recommend effective HR strategies.
  • Leverage best practices and identify efficiency opportunities by driving key programs and processes, including Performance Management Cycles, Calibration Facilitation, Compensation Planning, People Leader Coaching, Employee Relations, and Conflict Resolution.
  • Collaborate with Talent Operations, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Talent Experience, and Total Rewards to meet business needs.
  • Contribute to critical projects that impact employee experience, growth, and retention.
What You\'ll Bring to the Role
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related field.
  • 15+ years overall experience in HR experience supporting Platform & Software Development Departments or in a SaaS startup environment
  • 10+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner dealing directly with Senior Leadership.
  • 5 + years of experience with US and Canadian and European employment law and regulations.
  • Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong project & program management skills: Ability to effectively lead, plan, organize, and execute tasks and projects within designated timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management.
You\'ll Stand Out If You Bring Experience In
  • CHRP, CHRL, SHRP, PHR or other HR designation preferred.
  • Previous experience with global employment law including: Canada, the US, Mexico, UK, Croatia, Germany, and the Netherlands
