The Opportunity:

The Senior Health Editor, Content Works/Healthing.ca is responsible for overseeing the execution of sponsored content campaigns on Healthing.ca. Reporting to the Director of Content Works, this individual will project manage the creation of custom articles, videos, infographics and social media content, harnessing the power of storytelling to help clients achieve their marketing goals. The Senior Health Editor should have extensive experience producing content on health-related topics and have the ability to oversee the development of content that engages readers and is scientifically accurate. The Senior Health Editor will also have the opportunity to create engaging new content formats, establish a brand voice for Healthing.ca\'s sponsored content channel and assist in the development of new content products for clients.

What you\'ll do:

\xc2\xb7Work directly with clients to produce best-in-class health and medical sponsored content (articles, photos, videos) to be published on the Postmedia Network;

\xc2\xb7Support the development of custom health/medical content to be published on client channels;

\xc2\xb7Manage the regulatory review process (Ad Standards Canada) when required and ensure all projects have complete and accurate referencing and meet regulatory requirements;

\xc2\xb7Assist Healthing.ca sales and business development units in pitching high-value strategic commercial content initiatives, both on- and off-network, in a variety of formats;

\xc2\xb7Provide oversight and review of layout/graphic content to ensure that it is accurate and aligns with campaign objectives;

\xc2\xb7Lead and develop a team of freelance health/medical writers;

\xc2\xb7Ensure content adheres to a consistent writing and referencing style and quality standards;

\xc2\xb7Identify opportunities for innovation and diversification of health/medical content creation;

\xc2\xb7Identify net-new content products/offerings and mobilize sales teams to engage advertisers;

\xc2\xb7Assist in the development and integration of new content formats (audio, video, interactive) as part of Postmedia\'s content marketing suite of products;

\xc2\xb7Collaborate with the Director, Content Works and other Executive Producers to evolve the capabilities of Content Works to align with Postmedia\'s strategic initiatives.

You are/have:

\xc2\xb7A Bachelor\'s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or an equivalent. Additional education in health sciences is an asset but not required;

\xc2\xb7The ability to direct the creation of high-quality articles, images, videos, infographics and interactive content that audiences love, and knowledge of best practices for these formats;

\xc2\xb7Exceptional health/medical writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling messaging that engages a consumer audience, and to adapt content to various channels while supporting brand goals;

\xc2\xb7Ability to synthesize business goals into compelling editorial strategy for both B2B and B2C projects;

\xc2\xb7A minimum of 7 years of experience in journalism and/or content marketing;

\xc2\xb7Experience managing editorial calendars and multiple projects with conflicting deadlines;

\xc2\xb7An existing network of health/medical freelance content creators, or the ability to find and nurture one;

\xc2\xb7A strong knowledge of Ad Standards Canada compliance and approval process (an asset but not required, training will be provided);

\xc2\xb7Experience working in health sciences or pharmaceutical field (an asset but not required);

\xc2\xb7Knowledge of best practices within the content marketing industry including SEO;

\xc2\xb7Knowledge of audience metrics and strategies for promoting content on social media;

\xc2\xb7A motivated team player and self-starter with superior communication skills and a strong desire to succeed;

\xc2\xb7Proficient in all major business software applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel);

\xc2\xb7Excellent client service skills, ability to deliver client and stakeholder satisfaction in measurable ways;

\xc2\xb7Professional demeanour and ability to work well under pressure.
