What you\'ll do

The Real Estate Sales Forecasting team supports the Real Estate group by providing insight, analytics and data in support of Real Estate capital investment decisions. Using a unique set of analytical tools and data, the Senior Market Analyst is responsible to create sales forecasts, cannibalization estimates, long term market plans and demographic analysis to support recommendations for the best use of capital across the store network. Reporting to the Manager, RE Sales Forecasting, the Senior Market Analyst will provide support to regional development teams as required while also working collaboratively with other members of the Forecasting team and the Market Analysis team to develop new tools and models in support of the above functions.

Develop specialized market and location analyses which include detailed sales forecasts, cannibalization estimates, competitor analysis and demographic analysis in support of all real estate capital investment decisions

Assist in the creation of national, regional and market specific long term real estate strategies by incorporating current and future store performance, long term demographic and macro-economic forecasts, future residential developments and long term changes to the physical retail landscape

Work with the RE Development teams and the individual Business Units to arrive at accurate sales forecasts and cannibalization estimates for potential real estate projects

Assess historical project performance vs. plan and post audit previous analyses to undercover opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiencies

Manage multiple business units to ensure that efforts are placed on the highest priority projects

Prepare content and visuals to explain sales forecasts and related analysis for monthly Real Estate Meeting cycles

Present all forecasts and analysis to AVP, FP&A Decision Support and various stakeholders in the organization

What you bring

A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Geography, Analytics, Data Science, Business, Urban Planning, Math & Statistics or another degree combined with relevant work experience

3-5 years providing sales forecasts, cannibalization estimates, market plans / network strategies or customer analytics for a major retailer or consultancy group

A working knowledge of the ESRI suite of GIS software; map creation, cartographic skills, and standards

Experience using Knime, SQL and Python is considered an asset

A proven track record of prioritizing and managing multiple projects with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced deadline driving environment
