Senior Geotechnical EngineerGeotechnical ServiceOttawa or Kingston, ONPinchin\xe2\x80\x99s is currently recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our Geotechnical Service Group in either the Ottawa or Kingston office.The Geotechnical Service Group provides clients with the highest quality of diversified geotechnical engineering services. As a result, career advancement is based on your success at the company but is unlimited.A Day in the life of a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer at Pinchin:

• Perform Geotechnical engineering evaluations (e.g., soil and bedrock engineering design, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, excavation, dewatering and shoring.)
• Scheduling assessments and meetings with clients/contractors
• Assigning work to field staff as appropriate depending on workloads and in conjunction with the other Senior Managers
• Preparing contract documents, proposals, and reports
• Providing clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelines
• Mentoring, training and supervising junior field staff
• Reviewing written work of technical staff and providing feedback and guidance when needed
• Meet with clients to determine project requirements
• Business development and marketing to new and existing clients

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

• University degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience
• 8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a geotechnical engineering role
• A Professional Engineering Designation in the Province of Ontario or be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as geotechnical engineering software (slope stability, seepage, finite element programs, etc.)
• Able to work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation and Building Sciences
• The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients and managers
• Excellent technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clientele
• Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated)
