AECOM is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to be based in Mississauga, ON.

This position is a full-time role and is expected to begin in February 2023.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Direct and manage small to large scale geotechnical investigations, mentor staff and champion talent development.
• Lead and coordinate project pursuits and execution of large geotechnical projects including highways, railways, airports, buildings, tunnels, trenchless and open trench installations, Pump Stations, and wastewater treatment plants.
• Responsible for geotechnical design including but not limited to railway projects, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, dams, slope stability, seismic design, settlement analysis, liquefaction assessment.
• Prepare site specific field investigation programmes and laboratory testing programmes to meet the deliverable requirements.
• Writing and/or reviewing geotechnical reports, specifications, and other deliverables related to a variety of geotechnical projects including railway projects, WWTP, tunneling, slope stability design and municipality developments.
• Liaise with clients and project managers to ensure project requirements are met with respect to deliverable requirements, schedules and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff throughout the life of project om the proposal stage, to planning and directing the field program, through data analysis and detailed design, to reporting and delivering solutions to our clients.
• Work with other engineering disciplines at AECOM to provide services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local, regional, and global collaborative opportunities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants and external agencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering with 6+ years of geotechnical engineering experience in design and construction in Canada or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Currently registered or eligible for registration with PEO as P.Eng.
• Experience with Low, Medium, and High Complexity MTO projects.
• Class G driver\'s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master\'s degree in geotechnical engineering would be an asset.
• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience in design and construction in Canada or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and geotechnical software such as gINT, GEO-SLOPE (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W and SEGMA/W), GRLWEAP, LPILE, ALLPILE, SHAFT, SETTLE3D, PLAXIS.
• Geotechnical engineering in the transportation sector with Metrolinx, MTO, TTC and CN/CP Rail project experience in Greater Toronto Area.
• Previois sxperience in the civil Infrastructure with a focus on transportation and rail projects including proven project experience in design of foundations, road and railway embankments, bridge foundation design including pile design, temporary shafts, support systems for temporary excavations, open cut excavations, general earth works and design of temporary/permanent dewatering systems.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
