Role Overview:

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will act as a primary liaison between our firm and clients. The successful candidate will lead site investigations, analyze soil and rock conditions, and provide geotechnical recommendations for a range of infrastructure and construction projects. Your expertise will be essential in delivering consulting services and driving business growth across various sectors, with a particular focus on Southern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area.
This role requires a strategic approach, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating innovative technical solutions to address environmental and geotechnical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:



Client Relationship Building:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients across various sectors, including commercial retail, land development, real estate management, insurance, First Nations, and financial institutions. Understand their environmental needs and identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Strategic Guidance:

Provide clients with strategic guidance and technical expertise on geo-environmental issues, regulations, and best practices. Leverage our firm's resources and capabilities to deliver exceptional service.

Collaboration:

Regularly collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions and deliver high-quality consulting services that exceed client expectations.

Geo-Environmental Assessments and Remediation:

Conduct site investigations, risk assessments, and the identification of contamination or other geotechnical issues that could affect a project's success or safety.

Team Building and Management:

Build a new team of geo-environmental experts, and manage/mentor team members to achieve excellence in their work.

Expertise Areas (Collaborative Approach):

While you do not need to be an expert in all these areas, your collaboration with other experts on the team will allow you to provide comprehensive services:

Occupational Health and Safety:

Ensure safe practices during geotechnical projects.

Site Investigation and Subsurface Exploration:

Provide expertise on conducting field investigations, including drilling, sampling, and geophysical tests, to assess soil, rock, and groundwater conditions at project sites.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:

Navigate complex regulations and mitigate risks.
o

Geotechnical Engineering for Environmental Remediation:

Conduct geotechnical assessments and environmental site assessments (ESA) to assess contamination levels and design geotechnical solutions, such as soil stabilization and groundwater treatment, to ensure safe site cleanup with minimal environmental impact.

Qualifications and Skills:



Post-graduate degree in Geo-Engineering discipline such as Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering or Engineering Geology. Minimum 7 years of experience in Geo-engineering field in Canada, with a proven history of business development success. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario. Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction is considered an asset. A high level of proficiency with current geotechnical software applications. Valid Ontario Driver's License (G). Strong technical, oral and written communication skills. Client-Facing Experience: Comfortable working in a client-facing role and managing key client relationships. Willingness to travel for client meetings, project assignments, and industry events.

Pay: $110,000.00-$170,000.00 per year
