Senior Fire Protection Technician

Prince George, BC, CA, Canada

Job Description

We Are Hiring for Careers, Not Just Jobs.

Prince George offers the ultimate lifestyle upgrade: a place where attainable housing costs essentially give you a raise, and a fifteen-minute commute gives you your time back. You can trade a cramped condo for a detached home and still have the budget to enjoy the 1,600 lakes and rivers within an hour of your doorstep. We are the Sports Capital of BC, a community that rallies around the Cougars and shops at local farmers' markets, yet still offers the big-city convenience of Costco and Superstore.

Your Base Camp for Northern Adventure

At Allpoints Fire Protection, we have set the standard for the industry in the North. While Prince George is home, your office is the vast beauty of Northern BC. You will see clients from Haida Gwaii to the Alberta border and from 100 Mile House to the Yukon. You will experience a diversity of work that few other roles can offer, providing safety and peace of mind to everyone from local schools and hospitals to remote mines and mills.

Culture & Growth

We know that true excellence comes from how we treat each other. We foster an environment defined by equal acceptance, mutual respect, and the unshakable belief that we are stronger together. We operate as a single, cohesive unit: every single person, from the office to the field, plays a critical role in our collective success.

We know that your growth is our growth; that is why we actively support your professional development with ongoing training and learning opportunities. This is a workplace where you are backed by a team that genuinely has your back, creating a space where you can speak up, share ideas, and do your best work without hesitation.

Senior Fire Protection Technician

You are the expert we have been waiting for. In this role, you will take the lead on complex systems, acting as a technical authority in the field. You won't just be fixing systems; you will be solving problems for our clients and mentoring the next generation of technicians.

What You Will Do

Total System Mastery:

Perform inspections, diagnose complex problems, and repair a full range of fire safety equipment; including fire alarm systems, sprinklers, extinguishers, emergency lighting, suppression systems, backflow preventers, and hydrants.

The Technical Authority:

You are the one who reads the blueprints and knows the code. You will interpret submittals, diagrams, and specifications, ensuring every solution meets ULC and NFPA standards while remaining cost-effective for the client.

Mentor the Next Generation:

Share your knowledge. You will help train less experienced technicians, fostering the "strength in unity" culture that defines Allpoints.

Professional Execution:

Manage your service vehicle inventory accurately and maintain strong client relationships. You will handle the digital side of the job (Outlook, Word, Excel) with the same precision you apply to a fire panel.

Explore the Territory:

Embrace the travel. You will be on the road visiting client sites across Northern BC, requiring flexibility for travel and occasional after-hours work.

The Non-Negotiables

Valid Class 5 Driver's License with an insurable drivers abstract. Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the role, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and lifting equipment up to 50lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation). Proficiency in English (verbal and written). High School Diploma (or equivalent experience).
