Job Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Fire Protection Technicians (RFPT) in good standing with ASTT certification. This is a full-time permanent position with an established fire protection company based in Burnaby.

We are looking for an honest person who has a good work ethic and experience in the fire industry, preferably at least 5 years' worth of experience in BC.

Candidates with Fire Alarm, Water, Extinguisher, and Emergency Lighting ASTT Stamps and BCWWA Backflow certification will have first consideration.

Education:

Completion of high school, vocational or technical training specifically BCIT training and achievement of ASTT certified designations ideally in Fire Alarm, Water, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, and BCWWA Backflow Testing certification.

Experience:

Preferred minimum 5 years experience in Annual Testing of all major disciplines, Monthly Testing, general repair and maintenance of related systems. Aptitude for mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting. Success in team leadership and training preferred.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and climb stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with safety standards. Utilize mobile devices for reporting and documentation of inspections and system designs. Lead teams in the testing and maintenance of fire protection equipment. Communicate effectively in English with clients and team members to ensure project success. Maintain accurate records and reports related to fire protection activities.
