Position Title: Senior Financial Systems Analyst

Team and Location: Financial Planning & Projects - Calgary, AB

Minimum Starting Salary: $ 99,840 /year

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Enterprise FP&A Manager, this role is accountable for ensuring the reliable, timely and accurate operation of Parkland\xe2\x80\x99s EPM system to meet our budgeting, forecasting, long range planning, and management reporting needs.

The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in maintaining and developing new functionality in Oracle EPM to support our path of continuous improvement for Parkland\xe2\x80\x99s FP&A processes. The focus will be on the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes which will include Projects, Capital, Financials, and Workforce planning modules.

This job is accountable and responsible for maintaining a strict level of confidentiality relative to compensation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of Oracle EPM applications to support our path of continuous improvement for Parkland\xe2\x80\x99s FP&A processes.
  • Ensure the integrity of data synchronizations between multiple EPM applications as well as different integrations with our consolidation system (OneStream) and other Operational systems (i.e., JDE, UKG, Anaplan).
  • Assist with training Oracle EPM super-users across Parkland\xe2\x80\x99s Divisions on a regular basis as well as creating and maintaining training documentation.
  • Supporting and developing processes for annual budgets, monthly forecast, MG&A variance analysis and strategic planning processes within the EPM system.
  • Maintains Oracle EPM system and updates for changes in business as they arise which will include but not limited to maintaining hierarchies and artifacts such as business rules, calculation scripts and data integrations, as well as building FR Studio and SmartView reports, handling daily maintenance and user requests/ issues, etc.
  • Supports the Divisions\xe2\x80\x99 FP&A teams in developing effective reports and data points to assist analysis and decision making. Accountable to make recommendations on reporting, data management and process improvements.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support in updating different artifacts in the EPM system, i.e. hierarchies, business rules, dimension level security, data forms and/or financial reporting studio reports.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and to leverage system tools to automate processes, making recommendations on system design and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot system-based anomalies as they arise and manage resolution of issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Computer Science with 5+ years of FP&A or financial systems experience
  • Expert knowledge in Oracle EPM modules or other large scale Performance Management or Consolidation systems.
  • Proficiency in managing data forms, hierarchies, data synchronizations, writing calculation scripts, designing reports in Financial Reporting Studio and Smart View, among other Oracle EPM administrator\xe2\x80\x99s functions
  • Strong analytical skills to validate and challenge information by various sources
  • Strong project management and team skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong skills related to execution and implementation of process changes
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work independently and be accountable for results
  • Possess the capacity to listen / consult / advise and provide solutions for a variety of stakeholders who may have concurrent or competing priorities
  • High degree of attention to detail and organization
  • Driven and the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
