What you'll do




The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role on the Margin Accounting Team and will be responsible for revenue and cost of sales entries and analysis related to various CTC BUs like CTR, Party, FGL, PETR, etc. The role will cover broad areas of margin like the reverse flow program, the dealer margin sharing calculation etc. Responsibilities will include reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, investigation of discrepancies and variances, ensuring controls are adhered to, and providing requirements and key insights on projects that impact margin across all business units.

Reviewing period end adjusting revenue and cost of sales transactions for various BUs (including Dealer sharing, Reverse Flow, Royalty, etc.), ensuring reasonability and completeness. Review reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to areas of responsibility, Review and investigate discrepancy between various internal data systems to ensure data integrity. Conduct variance analysis at month end for margin P&L section across banners. Develop, maintain and update margin related financial models. Assist in development and completion of controls to ensure effective and efficient processing of transactions. Collaborate with various internal teams like tax, audit, dealer relationship, FP&A business/corporate accounting on investigations, external requests, and ad-hoc projects. Continuously look for efficiencies and opportunities to streamline processes. Manage, support, and develop FAs on team.

What you bring



Minimum 3 years' experience in a medium/large company at a Senior Financial Analyst/Accountant level with strong IFRS knowledge. University Degree in Accounting or Finance areas. CPA designation (Or working towards). Ability to provide accounting guidance on margin accounting and determine appropriate treatment of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS. Solid financial and technical skills coupled with strong analytical ability. Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the "big picture" in a complex business environment. Natural curiosity to investigate and understand the reason behind transactions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships while coaching and developing analysts. Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements. Excellent attention to detail. Advanced PC skills including Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Familiarity with internal and external audit processes. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting system and HFM is an asset. Broad knowledge of the Chart of Accounts and internal controls is an asset.
