:Our West GTA client is a publicly traded company with offices across Canada. Due to exciting growth, our client is adding a Senior Finance Manager to the team. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days/week onsite.Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Finance Manager is responsible for oversight of day-to-day full-cycle accounting. Leading a team of up to 9 staff, the Senior Finance Manager oversees general accounting, A/P, A/R, payroll, inventory and fixed assets. The Senior Finance Manager manages the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes meeting tight deadlines, while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in US GAAP. Each month, the Senior Finance Manager presents the financial results to the CFO, ready to discuss and explain variances from budget/forecast and prior year. The Senior Finance Manager is also responsible for SOX compliance and maintenance of strong internal controls.To be considered for this position, you must be a CPA in good standing with CPA Ontario (client has asked us to verify candidates\' good standing before interviews are granted) with 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years of management experience. You must have strong hands-on SOX experience from publicly traded companies with operations across Canada. You must be a strong people manager who can meet tight reporting deadlines. You should be a process-oriented individual who will maintain strong internal controls within the Finance department. As you will work closely with the CFO including presentation of financial results, you must have superior verbal and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of US GAAP is preferred. Past Big 4 audit firm experience is an asset.Requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce
  • CPA designation in good standing with CPA Ontario
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team
  • Month end close including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Full-cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, general accounting and payroll
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Monthly variance analysis of financial results
  • Ensure strong internal controls and SOX controls
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • US GAAP
  • Experience in public companies
  • Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Large ERP experience (ie SAP, Oracle, etc)
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Present financial results to CFO along with analysis and explanation of notable variances
