Department Overview The Credit Cards Finance team, within Canadian Personal Banking (CPB), is a high impact team that supports the development and achievement of financial and strategic objectives for the Credit Cards business which operates in a highly competitive and innovative industry. The team leads the forecasting and planning process, prepares insightful monthly management reporting, value-added analysis to the senior management team on a diverse range of financial and business matters.
Key areas of focus include:
Prepare monthly reporting and analysis including month-end close, monthly performance reporting and analytics
Support the annual Plan and quarterly Forecast cycles for the TD and Aeroplan Consumer Credit Card portfolios
Produce financial and business insights with recommendations that enhance short and long-term economic value for the business
Maintain industry & internal business awareness, recognize & anticipate trends, identify issues & opportunities, and recommend action
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Senior Analyst role supports the development and achievement of Credit Card financial and strategic objectives. The role requires excellence in a management reporting environment, with particular focus on value-add reporting of results, forecast, business casing and business partner decision support The role has a number of accountabilities which include, but are not limited to the following:
Complete month-end close activities and prepare monthly P&L reporting for the TD and Aeroplan consumer portfolios. Ensuring activities are complete, accurate, and delivered within deadlines
Review GL accounts and conduct analysis on monthly results in-order to investigate and assist with timely resolution of issues
Prepare insightful Revenue and Expense commentary on fluxes and trends across portfolio
Prepare the TD and Aero Consumer executive monthly operating results material, and be an active participant in the review meeting
Support the forecasting cycles including updating models and review material
Conduct analysis of actual and forecast results and broader economic trends to provide a reasonable view of the cards business future with advice to improve decisions
Participate in developing and implementing new financial models, methodologies, and frameworks to support ongoing reporting, controls, and analysis
Support business on initiatives which could include product strategic reviews, campaign modelling and business casing support
Support annual audit processes
Build and manage strong relationships within Finance and across our multiple stakeholders including business unit leadership and broader functional groups at TD to draw upon organizational resources to deliver results
Promote and foster a positive working environment that encourages innovation, creativity, teamwork and strong strategic partnerships with the business
Job Requirements
CA/CMA/CGA/CFA/Business degree, with 5+ years of Finance experience
Process-oriented with a focus on development, improvement/enhancement and transparency
Organized and detailed oriented with the ability to manage deadlines, multi-task, be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and ad-hoc requests in an environment with tight deadlines
Proactive self-starter with the ability to identify process issues and to quickly and effectively resolve as required
Highly motivated / enthusiastic individual, who can \xe2\x80\x98get things done\xe2\x80\x99 in an organized and customer focused manner
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and organizational awareness
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interpret and present in a concise and impactful manner
Good knowledge of TD Finance systems (e.g. Hyperion EMRS/EPM/OAC) and solid understanding of accounting and management reporting principles
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); knowledge of Tableau or other reporting tools is preferred
