Department Overview
The TD Securities Capital and Liquidity Management Group is part of the Wholesale Banking Finance group and is accountable for all capital reporting/management and capital project initiatives, as well as providing subject matter expertise in liquidity, funding and balance sheet to TDS businesses to ensure the business is making decisions to optimize the financial resources of the Bank. The group is involved in leading consultations and industry discussions regarding current and upcoming OSFI Capital and Liquidity requirements. It is also responsible for allocation of capital for business line measurement and financial statement disclosures, ownership of Capital and Liquidity Management Frameworks including establishment of limits, ongoing monitoring and escalation, and leading optimization and cost savings initiatives.


The Senior Analyst in this role will be required to provide accurate and timely Wholesale Bank capital reporting in accordance with the OSFI capital guidelines; and present capital results and value-added information enabling senior business leaders to make informed and critical business decisions on capital. This includes interpretation of key capital drivers, variance analysis, and making appropriate recommendations where required. In addition, the Senior Analyst will address ad-hoc requests relating to capital and leverage requirements, independently gather business requirements, reengineer business processes where necessary, and maintain process documents. The analyst will provide meaningful reporting/analysis to influence business behavior, strategic decision making and optimal balance sheet usage.

The analyst will be required to demonstrate governance, control and risk management behaviours in alignment with TD policies and practices.

Job Accountabilities:

Financial:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new financial models, capital treatment, methodologies, frameworks and paradigms to support on-going business unit reporting and analysis functions
  • As the subject matter expert, provide guidance and recommendations to the Business on capital related matters
  • Monthly reporting of capital results for derivatives positions in TD Securities
  • As the subject matter expert for derivatives capital reporting, support the implementation of Basel III Reforms Project
  • Analyze the new CVA RWA framework and support its implementation for capital reporting purposes

Business Operations:
  • Prepare analysis of current processes, identify gaps and reengineer processes to improve business operations
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze and prepare presentations to management on the findings
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of various technological tools (e.g. Access databases) and process documents

Customer:
  • Partner with various business line and front-office contacts and develop and maintain solid and effective working relationships with various parties
  • Compile reports and provide analysis to satisfy ad hoc requests from senior management, front office, and other users
  • Work with current process owners to identify control gaps, processes and inefficiencies
  • Effectively manage projects through concise and effective communication avenues

Job Requirements
Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:
  • Degree in Business Management or Finance
  • Professional accounting / finance designation (CPA/CFA) or pursuing would be an asset
