Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Fabricator
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in steel fabrication and welding, specifically in building and maintaining steel molds for the precast concrete industry. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate complex steel structures used in precast production.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate, modify, and repair steel molds and forms for the precast concrete industry.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, and stick welding) and other metal fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
Work with structural steel, plate, and reinforcing steel to build and repair molds.
Perform grinding, cutting, and bending of metal components as required.
Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets industry standards and quality control requirements.
Assist in the design and prototyping of new molds to improve efficiency and product quality.
Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and other fabricators to optimize manufacturing processes.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in steel fabrication and welding, preferably in the precast concrete industry.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding with strong metalworking skills.
Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
Strong knowledge of metal cutting, grinding, forming, and finishing techniques.
Experience operating fabrication tools such as plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torches, press brakes, cutting saws, drill presses, ironworkers, and rebar benders.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Welding certifications (CWB or equivalent)
Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset.
Job involves physically demanding tasks that require moving, carrying or lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs (22kg)
