The Senior Events Operator is a self-motivated leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and a relentless desire to win. They will be responsible for the implementation, development and ongoing evolution of the Private Event Program through operational management and administrative projects; ensuring events are coordinated and executed seamlessly from start to finish. Through ongoing training and development, the Senior Event Operator will be responsible for creating a ratified event team all working toward the same goal of executing on-brand, buzz worthy experiences. The Senior Event Operator is sales driven, working closely with the Event Chef to develop strategies to fill the event space when it is under-utilized contributing to overall sales.

Responsibilities

Sales Program

  • Development of coordination strategies that achieve the ability to execute events seamlessly in an under-utilized revenue center, while ensuring ease of execution in all areas of the business
  • Outside Sales Program. Networking in the community to build awareness of the program and drive sales by targeting groups to fill under-utilized revenue center
  • Customer Relationship Management. Maintaining relationships with new and current event hosts to create repeat business
Driving Labour Targets
  • Developing execution strategies to hit labour targets, working closely with the Event Chef to drive this area of the business in both the Front and Back of House
Recruiting, Training & Development
  • Recruitment, training and development of ratified event service team
  • Recruitment, training and development of ratified event leadership team
  • Recruitment for the restaurant, contributing to overall selection for both regular service and event team
Planning & Execution of Event Experiences
  • Ensuring each event is planned and coordinated to ensure ease of execution in all areas of the business
  • Ensuring each event is planned and hosted with genuine warmth and care, creating on-brand, buzz worth experiences every time!
  • Implementation and training of new menu experience roll-outs
  • Working closely with the Event Operations Manager and Culinary Development Team to consistently provide feedback on experiences
Program Inspection & Accurate Reporting for
  • Food cost
  • POS & Inventory
  • Sales, Profit & Labour
Environment
  • Ensuring all events are executed within parameters of liquor license, special events permits, noise by laws and store specific policies
  • Setup/takedown system in place for efficiency and overall maintenance of JOEY items
  • Event equipment + small wares system to ensure organization and ongoing inventory
  • Rental/Vendor system in place for pickup/drop off efficiency
Vendor Program
  • Development of vendor relationships resulting in bottom line profit & premium service for guests
Social Media
  • Planning and coordination of internal marketing events, contributing to online presence
  • Generating on-brand content to contribute to Event Program social media platforms
Requirements:
  • 2+ years\' experience in restaurant leadership position an asset
  • 2+ years\' experience in live event planning and coordination an asset
  • Certificate/diploma/degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration and/or Hospitality Management an asset
  • Sales experience an asset
