About the Role

We are seeking an experienced

Senior Estimator - Plastics

to join our team in Wallaceburg or Windsor. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for the complete build and repair of plastic injection moulds and related tooling. This role requires strong technical understanding, attention to detail, and collaboration with Sales, Design, and Purchasing to ensure competitive and profitable pricing.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates (labour and material) for new builds and repairs of plastic injection moulds and other company services. Analyze part and tooling requirements to determine: Line of draw Material introduction method Parting line Independent mould or die movements (lifters, slides, etc.) Cooling and ejection systems Develop mould concepts in accordance with specific customer standards. Gather and review all necessary technical data, drawings, and specifications for estimating. Maintain organized and accurate estimating files and documentation. Collaborate with Sales and Management to review and justify submitted cost estimates. Participate in post-job reviews to evaluate estimate accuracy and support continuous improvement. Work with Management to determine job build hours and resource requirements. Maintain regular contact with Purchasing and vendors to stay current with material and subcontract pricing. Provide part feasibility assessments when required. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and reference materials for customer standards to ensure pricing accuracy.

Qualifications

Minimum

5 years of experience

estimating plastic injection mould builds or repairs. Strong knowledge of

mould design principles

and manufacturing processes. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD data. Proficiency in

CAD viewing tools

, and

Microsoft Office Suite

. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Work Environment

This is a

full-time, 44-hour-per-week

position. Hours may fluctuate based on customer and project demands.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
