Job Description

:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator who is responsible for preparing accurate and timely construction estimates and budgets for projects of varying size and complexity. This role supports Design-Build, Construction Management, Cost Plus, and Lump Sum projects and works closely with internal teams, consultants, and clients from early design through procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Prepare construction budgets and detailed estimates, including soft costs, assumptions, and summaries.

2.Lead estimating efforts for Design-Build and Construction Management projects, including RFP reviews and proposal support.

3.Manage subcontractor and consultant procurement, including tendering, bid analysis, recommendations, and negotiations.

4.Develop scopes of work and tender packages for subcontractors.

5.Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and construction teams to ensure complete scope coverage.

6.Obtain and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.

7.Maintain historical cost data for future estimates.

8.Identify project risks and incorporate schedules and constructability considerations into estimates.

9.Participate in post-project cost reviews to improve estimating accuracy.

Requirements:

1.Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator with a General Contractor or Design-Build firm.

2.Proven experience estimating projects from $250K to $100M.

3.Strong knowledge of ICI construction, including site development, building envelope, and M&E systems.

4.Proficiency with PlanSwift, Procore, and Microsoft Excel.

5.Ability to estimate from both conceptual designs and complete construction documents.

6.Strong communication and negotiation skills.

7.Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.

8.Cold storage or food processing experience is an asset.

9.PQS/CEC or Gold Seal certification is an asset.
