THE OPPORTUNITY

Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (\xe2\x80\x9cTriton\xe2\x80\x9d) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Project Manager to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Calgary office.

The successful candidate will support the project management and technical team in Vancouver. Our project managers are the cornerstone of our company and are committed to outstanding client service. In this role you will be responsible for managing the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects and providing mentorship to more junior staff. Our client base ranges from regional clients to multi-national oil & gas companies, to government, First Nations, power management, and transportation firms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Planning, organizing, and managing a diverse array of projects, people, and tasks
  • Liaising and negotiating with other partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
  • Writing high-quality reports, cost estimates, and proposals
  • Creating project status reports and maintaining project documentation
  • Leading technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables
  • Contributing specialist expertise to multi-disciplinary projects
  • Providing mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
  • Providing excellent service to existing clients and maintaining those relationships
  • Supporting corporate business development initiatives
  • Ensuring client\xe2\x80\x99s and Triton\xe2\x80\x99s safety standards are maintained or exceeded
  • Working collaboratively within Triton corporate culture
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or diploma in a related field (environmental science, biology, agrology, ecology)
  • Business development acumen (e.g., client relationships, strategic planning, proposal writing)
  • Knowledge of and experience with relevant federal and provincial legislation, environmental standards, regulations and guidelines
  • Demonstrated increasing experience in project management (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting and scope control) and with the leadership and supervision of project teams
  • A quick learner, easily adapting to new software applications, systems, and business processes
  • Effective writing skills, and ability to produce meaningful reports and proposals
  • Organized and self-managed, with a collaborative working style
  • Strong problem solver able to address challenges with effective solutions that improve systems and/or relationships, and with the ability to think outside the box
  • Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with professional governing body recognized in Alberta (P.Bio, P.Ag., AScT.) is an asset
