Your Impact:
Support our fast paced, client centric projects, and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. As a Senior Level Environmental Data Management (EDM) Specialist you will have the responsibility of administering and coordinating our Canadian team of EDM staff, as well as performing EDM work. The work will involve the development and implementation of data management solution services for a diverse set of clients. You will support multi-discipline teams of client and consulting staff in developing enterprise environmental information solutions. Working with other members of our team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll design and deliver complex technical solutions and be passionate about applying cutting edge technology. During your time with us, you will leverage your strong environmental data understanding and background, database, automation, and visualization skills while collaborating with experts in various disciplines to apply these technologies on a variety of projects. You will also be coordinating workload and tool development and implementation with Jacobs teams globally. This position requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to balance work on multiple tasks, strong communication skills (written and verbal), strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage and grow teams. Our Environmental Data Management Specialists:
  • Coordinate data management, tool development, and implementation with Jacobs teams.
  • Work as a high-level technical expert in design, development, implementation, and testing of complex data management applications.
  • Possess the competency to work on all phases of data management projects as well as mentoring and managing junior staff.
  • Significantly contribute to the implementation, adoption, and development of data management best practices.
  • Coordinate with project management teams
  • Manage EDM staff
  • Review work (QA/QC)
  • Contribute to actual work delivery
  • Can work in a dynamic team environment with scientists, planners, engineers, and technologists.
  • Display attributes of a strong consultant (team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter that takes initiative, versatile, and has a client service mentality).
  • Develop and implement project plans, work assignments, and ensure product quality, on-schedule, on-budget, and safely.

Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Environmental Science, Computer Science, Biology, Geology, Engineering, Geography, or directly related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental data management, chemistry, analytical data validation, groundwater modeling, data analysis and/or visualization.
  • Experience with environmental software implementations in a consulting/industrial environment.
  • Knowledgeable in one or more COTS EDM and EHS software package(s) such as EQuIS, ESDat, Enfos, Enablon, Intelex, and others.
  • Experience with designing or automating digital workflows ranging from project planning, mobile data collection and data engineering, to data warehousing, database management, data analysis, and data visualization.

Ideally, You\xe2\x80\x99ll Also Have:
  • Experience with business intelligence tools like MS Power BI.
  • Experience setting up field teams for mobile data collection using EQuIS Collect, Collector for ArcGIS, Survey123, FastFields, and Trimble GPS equipment.
  • Experience with database or programming platforms (for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, HTML, Java/JavaScript, Python, R or similar).
