You will work as a Senior Engineer in Public Markets under the Technology department, collaborating closely with technology and business professionals to deliver best in class applications to support CPP Investments\' mandate. You will directly contribute to the delivery of new business capabilities that will modernize the technology landscape supporting global investment and co-investment strategies at CPP Investments.

Position Requirements

The Opportunity
  • Design and develop applications supporting key systematic and discretionary investment programs across global public markets.
  • Work hands on with AWS technologies, employing DevOps and leveraging patterns and best practices to deliver scalable, maintainable, and flexible solutions.
  • Proactively identify and drive continuous improvements in business processes and solutions to improve the public market investments lifecycle, by conducting research, analysis, and other exploration activities.
  • Align to agile best practices through active participation in scrum ceremonies.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to ensure your work is focused on solving business challenges and delivering business value.
  • Provide responsive business assistance while adhering to processes required for quality enterprise-level software development and support.
  • Mentor and coach teammates.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • 5+ years\' experience in software development, with prior experience in a team lead role.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with Python is a must, experience with Java is a nice to have.
  • Demonstrated experience developing applications on AWS. AWS certification is preferred.
  • Experience in the capital markets industry is a nice to have, including knowledge of various financial products and derivatives.
  • Strong desire to learn how the business operates and how technology helps them achieve their goals.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial attitude and can work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Ability and willingness to adapt and contribute as needed to ensure the team meets its goals.
