SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Senior Engineer, Facilities Engineering provides experienced engineering expertise, project leadership and engineering services to safely support the design, construction, operation, maintenance, enhancement, and expansion of SaskEnergy's transmission, compression and storage facilities. This includes applying sound engineering and industry principles, standards, practices and technology, and identification and recommendation of effective business solutions supporting departmental and corporate objectives.
Position Details
Non-union - This position is a permanent full time role.
Key Accountabilities
Manage projects throughout all assigned project phases and ensure design, safety, schedule and budgetary requirements are met.
Provide overall project coordination and project status reporting to key stakeholders.
Provide system and project design optimization for complex, multi-year or multidiscipline projects through detailed analysis, engineering assessments and other technical measures for corporate facilities such as compressor stations, gas processing plants, solution mining pump stations, etc.
Prepare, review, and approve detailed engineering designs, standards and specifications associated with transmission, compression and storage systems while ensuring safety, quality and corporate standards are met.
Provide technical support through the application of engineering principles in the investigation, analysis and resolution of complex facilities problems.
Research, analyze and evolve current and future requirements and provide comprehensive solutions to current challenges and meet corporate strategic and long-term plans.
Evaluate, develop, recommend, and implement new technology, products, standards, procedures, processes and specifications.
Participate in the strategic planning functions required to optimize compression and storage systems, facilities, resources and processes.
Represent the company on internal and/or external technical committees.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Agricultural, Industrial or Petroleum is preferred, others may also be considered).
Professional Engineer Designation registered to practice in Saskatchewan.
Eight (8) years of progressive engineering experience related to transmission, compression and storage facilities in the oil and gas industry.
Demonstrated competency in process and process equipment that includes complex problem solving and project management.
Strong working knowledge and understanding of natural gas industry practices and industry standards.
Detailed knowledge of natural gas, rotating equipment, compression and gas dehydration is preferred.
Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional Information
Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
A Class 5 Driver's License is required.
