Anyon Systems is a quantum computing company located in the Greater Montreal Region with a satellite office in Waterloo/Ottawa. We work at the cutting edge of technology to develop and commercialise superconducting quantum computers. The company is rapidly growing and has both hardware and software groups to achieve its goals.



We are seeking a skilled

Hardware Engineer

to design, develop, and test hardware components and systems for our products. The ideal candidate will have experience in circuit/schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of embedded systems and electronic components. You will be working within our Quantum Control Electronics Team to develop next-Gen electronics to control large scale superconducting quantum processors. You will focus on design, development and testing of Electronics boards including power and digital hardware modules.



Key Responsibilities:


Design and develop hardware components, including schematics and PCB layouts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, and manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration. Perform hardware testing, validation, and debugging to meet performance and reliability standards. Implement automated test procedures to streamline standardized modules. Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports. Evaluate and select appropriate components and materials for hardware designs. Support manufacturing and production teams with hardware-related issues.




Qualifications:


Bachelor's (6+ years of industrial experience), MSc or PhD (3+ years of industrial experience) in hardware design and development. Proficiency in tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar PCB design software. Strong knowledge of high-speed digital design, power electronics
and analog circuit design.
Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers. Experience with CPUs, Microprocessor, Microcontrollers, and networking modules such as Ethernet, SFP+ or QSFP+. Preferred - Experience with FPGA design, high-speed interfaces JESD204B, JESD204C, PCIe, DDR3 or DDR4, and RF systems. Knowledge of compliance standards (EMC, safety, etc.). Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping and lab equipment. Able to work under minimal supervision and experience with product transition from engineering to manufacturing. Strong teamwork capabilities, excellent organization and communication skills. * Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada or hold an Open Work Permit
